A Vega Bar for Everyone, Any Time of the Day

“You are what you eat. And what you don’t.”

Vega Bar Family ShotI’ve always loved good food.  However, as an athlete, with a growing respect for fueling my body correctly, I’ve slowly learned that what I’ve considered “good food,” in the past, has not always been good for me.

One nutritional option that I was introduced to and have now enjoyed for a few years is Vega.  Vega has so many great products to offer, including: Shakes, Smoothies, and now Vega bars.

My favorite of the Vega bars is the Vega Snack Bar.

Vega Snack Bar

It’s a quick, delicious snack, filled with clean, superfood whole food ingredients.  I tried the cranberry almond flavor and was immediately in love.  Maybe chocolate or another flavor is your preference?  Vega also offers the snack bar in chocolate peanut butter cup, dark chocolate mixed nuts and sea salt, dark chocolate cashew cherry, coconut cashew.  As an added bonus, this bar is gluten-free.

Looking for a solid recovery after a hard workout?  The Vega Sport Protein Bar is perfect post workout snack.

Vega Sport Bar- AllAfter a 3,000+ yard swim, everything tastes good to me.  This Vega Sport Protein Bar is no exception.  With 15 grams of protein, it is recovery hunger bliss.  The bars are non-GMO, gluten-free and made without artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners.  I tried the chocolate mint flavor and loved it.  If you aren’t into mint, this bar also comes in chocolate peanut butter and chocolate coconut.

It can be difficult when you’re in a hurry to find a healthy meal option.  Not to worry if you have a Vega One Bar on hand.

Filled with a full serving of greens, 25 vitamins and minerals, 12 grams of plant protein, 4 grams of fiber, and omega-3s, it’s the perfect nutritional meal bar.  It’s also a gluten-free.  The Vega One Bar is available in chocolate peanut butter, chocolate cherry almond, chocolate coconut cashew.  I found the chocolate cherry almond to be tasty, but the chocolate peanut butter came out on top for me.  That might be due to the fact that I love nut butters!

One side note for this bar: the calorie amount.  Let me explain.  For example, the chocolate peanut butter Vega One Bar has 270 calories.  As a meal bar, I’m not sure this would be enough calories for me as an athlete.  On the other hand, as a snack, this might seem to be a bit too high for calories.  Just something to keep in mind!  As previously mentioned though, a nice healthy option when in a pinch.

You’ll never lack fuel during a workout again with the Vega Sport Energy Bar on hand.

Vega Sport Energy Bar- ALl

Formulated with 27 gram of carbs (low and high glycemic) and 1 gram omega 3, these easy to eat, whole food bars, help keep your energy flowing through the toughest workouts.  These are available in chocolate coconut almond and apple cherry flavors.  I tried both flavors and definitely liked the consistency and taste of chocolate coconut almond better.

Each of these bars has been created by Brendan Brazier, a professional Ironman triathlete and bestselling author on plant-based nutrition.  The Vega Bar line is made from clean, whole food ingredients.  This is a nice change from some other bars on the market that promise protein, recovery, and sustained energy and are often filled with artificial sweeteners and processed ingredients.

  • Have you ever tried Vega products?  Which one(s)?
