Review and Giveaway: Bondi Band Ponytail Hat

What do you wear to keep your ears warm on your run?  Lately, my favorite types of hats are the ones that have a place for my ponytail! Anyone else?

Enter, Bondi Band’s Wicking Ponytail Hat!

Bondi Band Wicking Ponytail Hat

Bondi offers a wide variety of moisture wicking hats for both men and women.  They are lightweight, help keep you warm, and wick away moisture.  In addition to their moisture wicking hats, Bondi Band also offers Wicking Ponytail Hats and Pigtail Hats

I am a person who sweats a lot while running (yes, EVEN in the Winter!!)…so this wicking ponytail hat works perfect for me.  It doesn’t feel heavy or uncomfortable during my workouts.  I also love the added bonus of not having to stuff my ponytail up underneath to keep it off my neck.

Another great feature of the hat is the way the opening for the ponytail is made.  It runs down the seam of the hat, so no matter the length of your hair or where your ponytail is on your head, the opening is in the right spot.  The fabric overlaps near the opening, keeping your head warm, despite not being completely closed in the back.

Closer look at the ponytail opening in the back of the hat

Bondi Band’s Ponytail hat comes in a variety of colors and with different designs or sayings.  They cost between $18-$20 depending on the style you choose.

Also, as a side note, each year, Bondi Band donates 10% of their profits to a charity.  This year their chosen charity is the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Bondi Bands are proudly made in the USA!

Bondi Band has generously given me one moisture wicking ponytail hat to try and one (in the same color as pictured) to give away.  Enter below.

Still don’t know how to keep my ears warm..would love to try this!

  2. Shannon Chenoweth says:

I don’t really have anything to wear on my ears to keep them warm. I tend to wear a cap and just pull it down over the tops of the ears.

  3. Kat says:

If ts ever cold here I use my larger headband/ear Warmers ;)

  4. Jenna says:

Oh wow!! I’ve never seen or heard of anything like that!!! How cool!!! Have a fabulous Friday!!!! Xxoo

  5. Alison W says:

This looks great! Last year I ran in an old knitted toque, I’d love to try something that was moisture wicking.

  6. Natalie T. says:

I wear an ear warmer headband but I would love to try one of these!

  7. Kierston says:

I’ve seen these before…I love the ponytail hole! lol

  8. Suzanne S. says:

Oh my gosh! I’ve been looking for one of these but all the running shops around me only have basic black! I need color!!!

  9. I would love to try this. I have one hat with a pony hole, but it is fleece and sometimes gets me too hot. This looks like something I can wear during a lot of conditions. And it will fit under a helmet for cycling!

  10. Mindy Artze says:

I have a ski headband that I wear. If my ears are warm, then I can handle the cold. If they aren’t, I will freeze to death. I love my Bondi Band and would love to try this! Great idea!

Unfortunately, I am at a follow limit on Twitter. Luckily, I already followed you. I want to follow Bondi Band, but Twitter won’t let me.

  12. Jennifer says:

I wear a headband that covers my ears when running in the cold.

  13. Meri @ Run, MeriG. Run says:

I have been a HUGE fan of Bondi Band for a while (I even blogged about a couple of times!) because my awkwardly heavy sweating NECESSITATES these fantastic bands in the summer. They’re amazing to pull away the sweat and hide what’s “goin’ on” with my hair.

To find out 10% goes to Dana Farber? AMAZING. I’m buying 10000 more.

  14. Heather says:

    Hi Jenelle:

I have an Under Armour hat with a ponytail hole that I love for colder weather run. I’ve asked for some bondi bands for Christmas and am looking forward to trying them!

  15. Whitney @ FrenchFryRunner says:

When it’s cold, I either wear a beanie (without a ponytail hole, unfortunately) or a knitted headband. This beanie would be so awesome to have! :)

  16. Katy says:

I’ve got a couple fleecy headbands but they sweat!

  17. Amanda N says:

This is my first winter running season and considering I don’t really wear hats I’m ill prepared! I have one “winter beanie” that is actually leftover from an old dance costume when I was in middle school. I’ve been using that on the cold days but it doesn’t have a ponytail holder so my long hair has to be either stuffed in the hat (which makes for it not fitting over my ears as well) or worn in a low ponytail which makes my neck hot while running! I’d love to win a hat with a ponytail holder!

  18. Jamie @ couchtoironwoman says:

First, I have to say that I also mentioned in my post today that I even sweat when it is cold out. That made me laugh!

I keep my ears/head warm on runs by wearing my Saucony hat. It’s the only one I have right now though so I wouldn’t mind some more hats to add to my rotation.

  19. Danielle says:

Would love to try this! I have been running outside a lot lately and this would be great to keep my ears warm!

  20. Sarah M says:

I love my Bondi Bands, but I don’t have the hat. I use the headband and just pull it over my ears. I would love to try the hat though!

  21. Danielle @ itsaharleyyylife says:

I wear a light weight headband around my ears!

  22. justine says:

I wear a head band that covers my ears however it doesn’t wick off sweat so I would love to try this

  23. Nicole says:

Wow, what a cute hat! I have a champion one, but the ponytail place is super low (way lower than I like to wear my pony tails). I’d love to try one of these since it looks like the hole is much higher in the back!

  24. Kristin Miller says:

I wear a hat from Eddie Bauer with a pony slot, but I can’t find it!!!

  25. Abby @ BackAtSquareZero says:

Love that it has a built in pony tail opening. Too cute!

  26. Lindsay Barnes says:

I Love Bondi Bands and Hats, I have this Pony tail hat and love it, would love another color!!

  27. Lynne says:

    Love hats with ponytail ports.

  28. Joy says:

Depending on just how cold it is, I might wear a regular Bondi Band headband and pull it over my ears, if it’s colder, maybe a fleece headband, or really cold, a hat in a style similar to this one. I would love to try the Bondi Band version! My hats definitely get sweaty even in winter, even if I still feel cold, somehow I am still sweaty. Thank goodness for tech, wicking fabrics!

  29. Manisha says:

I would love to try this! I’ve read so many great things about bondiband and I’m training for the Disney Princess Half right now so this would definitely be useful for all those winter outside long runs!!!!

  30. Mindy @Road Runner Girl says:

I wear a fleece hat to keep my ears warm. Or sometimes I pull my bondi band down around my ears. Would love to try this ponytail hat…so cute!!!

  31. Rachel @RunningRachel says:

I have a knit hat that I use to keep my ears warm on a run :)

  32. Tina says:

I love my bondi band but I usually wear a knit cap bc my little noggin gets so cold! I would love this hat :D

  33. katie @ fromicecreamtomarathon says:

Love this! I usually just wear a headband, but now that it’s starting to get cooler, I need a hat!

  34. Run with Jess says:

I looooove BondiBand ponytail hats!! I use those or headbands over my ears to stay warm in winter

  35. Danielle K says:

I haven’t figured out something to keep my ears warm while running, but this looks pretty awesome!

  36. Laurel C says:

I usually wear some kind of beanie or head warmer, but this looks awesome!!!

  37. Maria @ Lil Mys Ninja says:

I normally use the wide headband that warms your ears.

  38. Erin says:

I typically use an ear warmer headband and a brimmed hat on top to keep my head warm. It works for temps above 25.. but lower than that and I have to do the ‘shove the pony tail under the beeny hat’ thing.
